Phil's Experience

Philip Leadbeater is a registered Occupational Therapist with a strong background in health care and public service. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy from Dalhousie University and has been working in the field since 1995. Over the years, he’s gained experience in auto insurance, private insurance, legal sectors, and government roles. He’s even traveled to remote areas of Northern Ontario to provide therapy services to the Cree First Nation.

Beyond his work, Philip has held leadership roles, including serving as Vice President and Member-at-Large for the Ontario Society of Occupational Therapists. He’s also been involved in nonprofit work, supporting brain injury awareness, hospice care, and international rehabilitation efforts—he even launched a project that sent mobility equipment to Haiti.

A former medic in the Canadian Armed Forces for 18 years, Philip has been recognized for his service, receiving the Canadian Armed Forces Decoration and the Sikorsky Helicopter Rescue Award for a life-saving mission in the North Atlantic. He was also admitted to the Order of St. John for his humanitarian work.

With a passion for healthcare, advocacy, and giving back, Philip has dedicated his career to helping others—whether through occupational therapy, policy work, or charitable initiatives.
